What are Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

This module will mostly cover some of the thoughts, feelings, and conversations we have around sexually transmitted infections, and not so much about the individual STIs themselves. Check out the links on this page to learn more about individual STIs, and our info page What Are STIs?

STIs are generally broken down into 3 categories:

STIs are generally transmitted through:

Fluid Exchange
(Precum, Semen, Vaginal Fluids, Saliva, Blood)
Skin-to-Skin Contact
(Genital Skin-to-Skin, Mouth-to-Genital)
Close Contact
Bacterial Vaginosis, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis (B/C), HIV/AIDS, LGV, Syphilis, TrichomoniasisHerpes, HPV, Molluscum ContagiosumPubic Lice and Scabies
